The story is amazing. Vincent is a highly evocative narrator. There are little things, little details that add to the story and make it so strong. I think Vincent is incredibly well-written, very believable.It was kind of like watching a cereus bloom. As you learn more and more, each element layers on top of the other, adding to it and enhancing it.There are a couple semantic issues here and there, but those are cosmetic...mostly.As it goes on, it gets weirder and weirder. I mean, the story's already atypical, but you go further down the proverbial rabbit hole. It's quite peculiar. I got to the end of it and didn't quite know what to make of it.Emma's quite right; the ending did rather fall quite flat. On a personal level, though, I think I was so befuddled by it I've subconsciously ignored it in my regards for the book. Mayhaps that's why I feel it deserves 4 stars instead of 3...
