Reader's Discretion Advised

...this confuses me. So...it's like tumblr...for books?

Either way, I'm mainly on Goodreads. I do occasionally come here, and also do periodically import my shelves from GR here, but GR is a more sure bet for contacting me.

The Crimson Grimoire - N.J. Nielsen This can only lead to disaster and hilarity.Post-read ETA:Disaster ensued. I'm not so sure about the hilarity.Dude, man. There's no need to have a glossary if you've only got a handful of terms and you define it in the text anyways. The ideas aren't bad, but it's overwrought and a bit obvious, which makes it all rather tacky. The characters' personalities are so little defined that nothing really makes much sense, especially the sudden onset of romance. It's as if they're dispensible, interchangeable, that anyone, really, could have done in their places as long as they had vaguely the same abilities and roles. The prose is a bit stiff and there are punctuation errors here and there.Final verdict -- not bad overall concept-wise, but rather underdeveloped.
